I had front row seats to this little show. My office is just off to the left of the stadium in the first pics...in the stadium's parking lot.

It was pretty cool to see. I had a hard time talking myself in to getting up at 4:30 to get there early enough, but it was worth it. The explosions were much stronger than I expected.

I'll take some closeup pics of the aftermath when I get to the office/yard in morning.

It's going to be interesting to see how they handle those three buttresses (buttrii?) that didn't quite go all the way down.

I just realized you can see one of our office trailers just to the left of the stadium in this pic. I wonder how much dust we're going to have to deal with tomorrow.

Cool explosions aside, what a shame that they just demolished it. I'm sure it could have been used for something.

Like what? It was a 40 year-old shit hole with a giant hole in the roof. The cost of maintenance and retrofit for anything useful would have made it completely out of reach for anyone that would want to use it.

The City of Irving has a master development plan for all of the property that is supposed to be the "rebirth" of Irving. The property alone is probably worth more than any revenue the building could have brought in.
