The caR50's build up for AZ6
As some of you already know my main overland adventure is the Arizona Run. In order to complete this run much time and effort is spent on preparing the caR50 for the rigors of overland adventure. The caR50 has to supply me with the ability to weld, large quantities of compressed air, all of my tools, and a hot shower would be nice. These luxuries are in addition to the regular reliability and ruggedness of an armored Nissan Pathfinder.
This year the build up will include:
The addition of a water to water heat exchanger for taking hot showers.
A full underbody skidplate from 'frame rail' to 'frame rail' starting at the bellhousing and ending where the rear links start.
4:1 crawler gears installed in the T-case
Upgrade the dual alternator wiring
Replace water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and any hoses that might need service.
Install an OBDII interface to the exsisting caR50 computer system.
Install a 2 channel amp that powers 1 subwoofer or 2 external speakers.
Optional Additions:
Some sort of sleeping platform
